I'm not an avid IGN fan but this review is in the right ball park for the game, it's an 8 for me but that's personal preference. I'm sure if they could stick more NPC's on the screen they would, trouble is, gamers want everything, there fore something will suffer. None of us are game devs so really can not make technical assumptions on why. Now if they didn't up the textures etc etc then they probably could have hundreds of NPC's on screen but then everyone would be complaining about the graphics. ![]() Graphics have to be improved, maps are bigger, lighting is better, sound is better, next gen or not, when you are improving on everything from the last gen you are still faced with the same issues, hardware limitations. Plus your comment of it being 'next gen' is somewhat tunnel vision. This is why the reviews are either one way or another, people looking for more are disappointed but those looking for something that isn't to big are probably going to enjoy it more. Maybe this is just down to my time limits, I don't have countless hours to put into open word games so when one comes along which means I can complete the story in a reasonable amount of time without getting destracted by learning how to fly, trying on clothes etc it just suits me better. Mafia 3 does push the story a long and that keeps me playing. I did all that in GTA 5 but got so destracted with all the other stuff I did not complete the story as it doesn't get pushed on quick enough, meaning other games come out and it just drops off the radar. ![]() I can not stand all that rubbish in video games, it's just filler that eventually will drag the player away from the story.
